TVRTKO EMANUEL GALIĆ completed his violin studies in 2015 at the Music Academy in Zagreb in the class of Professor Leonid Sorokov. Since 2016 he has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe with Professor Albrecht L. Breuninger, joined the study of violin pedagogy at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Münich, and continues his violin studies with Professor Pyre Michel at the Kunstuniversität Graz. Born in 1993, he received his first violin lessons from his aunt, Professor Julija Galić (Tübingen / Münich). After moving with his family to Zagreb, he continued his education with Professors Armin Sešek (Ljubljana), Marina Sorokowa (Vienna) and Davor Philipps (Zagreb). For two academic years he was a fellow of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein. He has received numerous awards at Croatian and international competitions. At the European Grand Prize of Music Mendlessohn Cup in Italy, he won the first prize, the Gioconda de Vito Special Prize for best solo instrumentalist, and the Citta di Taurisano Audience Special Prize (2011). He performed in the final of the Eurovision – Young Musicians competition with the HRT Symphony Orchestra (2012). He is the winner of the Stjepan Šulek Award for the best young violinists. He won second prize in 2016 at the chamber musicians’ competition of the Musik im Schloss Baden Cultural Fund with a quartet. As the first concertmaster, he conducted Haydn’s Die Schöpfung at the Academy of Music in Karlsruhe. He has performed in several music cycles: Zagreb soloists and young virtuosos, Virtuoso, Fortissimo Possibile. He has given recitals in Croatia and Germany. As a soloist and as a chamber musician, he performed with the Zagreb Soloists and the Tübingen Chamber Orchestra. He is a member of the Transzendenz ensemble in Tübingen. With the Parnassus ensemble, he recorded a sound carrier in early 2021, which will be released soon. He studied at master classes with Eugen Sarbu, Marina Sorokowa, Leonid Sorokow, Michael Frischenschlager, Julia Galic, Coozje Wijzenbeek, Ingolf Turban, Albrecht L. Breuninger and Prye Mitchell.
