Violinists from any country may take part in the competition provided that they are not younger than 16 on 1 January 2017 (i. e. must be born before 1 January 2001) and not older than 30 (i. e. must be born after 1 January 1987).

The International “Vaclav Huml” Violin Competition
The APPLICATION FORM must be accompanied by:
- a certified transcription or photocopy of an extract from the registry of birth;
- a photocopy of documents relative to the applicant’s course of musical studies;
- a brief curriculum vitae including details of the applicant’s professional activities;
- three quality photographs (13 x 18 cm), suitable for reproduction;
- a receipt showing that the admission fee for the Competition has been paid.
All applicants must pay an admission fee of 100 € by bank transfer to:

There will be no refunds of the admission fee for the competitors who fail to take part in the Competition for any reason whatsoever.
All applicants will be informed of the status of their application either upon receipt of the application or at the latest by 10 January 2017.
All candidates must register at the Secretariat of the Competition two days before the beginning of the competition and show proof of their identity (passport).

All works will be played from memory, with the exception of sonatas for violin and piano.
All performances are public.
The Jury of the Competition reserves the right to shorten individual performances.
Participants in the Competition will have at their disposal official piano accompanists.
Each competitor is entitled to one rehersal in each round. Competitors may bring at their expense a piano accompanist of their own choice.
