Anne Maria WEHRMEYER

Anne Maria Wehrmeyer started playing the violin at the tender age of four. She became a junior student at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin in 2009, and in the same year she and her family moved to Regensburg, where she has since been studying under Professor Conrad von der Goltz. 2012 to 2014 she was accepted at the Vienna Conservatory, in 2014 she continued studying at the Leopold Mozart Centre at Augsburg University (Prof. Linus Roth).
Anne Maria has already performed as a soloist with the New Symphony Orchestra of Berlin, the Junior Classic Orchestra in Regensburg, the East Bavarian Youth Orchestra, and the symphony orchestras of Regensburg and Nuremberg. Since 2011, she has given regular recitals at events such as “Antidogma Musica”, the international festival of early and contemporary music in Turin, and the concert series at Speinshart Abbey.
As the holder of a scholarship from the German music foundation Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, Anne Maria has performed several times in the foundation’s “Foyer of young artists” concert series and was featured on its 2014 annual CD. She has been playing instruments from the German Musical Instruments Fund since 2010 and is currently playing a violin made by Carlo Giuseppe Testore in Milan in around 1710.

Education
2012 to 2014:
Studies at the Vienna Conservatory.
Since 2014:
Studies under Professor Linus Roth at the Leopold Mozart Centre at Augsburg University.
Master classes with musicians such as Zakhar Bron, Midori Goto, Pavel Vernikov, Ingolf Turban, Natalia Likhopoi and Viktor Tretiyakov

2016:
First prize in the Lions Club Competition, Bavaria
2015: 
First prize in the Carl Bechstein Competition, Berlin
2014:
Special prizes in the “Pacem in Terris” International Music Competition in Bayreuth, the International Violin Competition Henri Marteau in Lichtenberg, and the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, Austria.
2007, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015:
First prize at national level in the German youth music competition “Jugend musiziert”, 2014 also awarded the special Eduard Söring Prize.

2012:
Third prize at Festival Bled in Slovenia.
First prize and “I premio assoluto con menzione speciale” (“Top prize with special mention”) in the European Music Competition in Moncalieri.
First prize in the “IV Concorso Europeo di Esecuzione Musicale” competition in Bari.

2011:
IBLA Grand Prize International Music Competition in Ragusa, Italy: the “Distinguished Musician” award and “Young Talent Special Mention.”
2010:
First prize in the Alexander Glazunov International Violin Competition, France.
Second prize in the Kocian Violin Competition in the Czech Republic.
First prize in “The Muse Junior” competition, Greece.
2008:
“Förderpreis” award for promising young musicians (the highest honor for participants under 16) in the 12th national Carl Schröder Competition in Thuringia.
2007:
First prize in the youth music competition at the “Bad Sulzaer Musiktage” festival.
